Bonitron's M3345D Diode Sharing modules are designed to offer system integrators a low cost solution for providing either line regeneration or dynamic braking for multiple drives.
Traditionally, integrators have provided a common DC bus for the drives and regen modules. This has required that the drives be connected to a common bus power supply or else the system has been directly powered through the drive input rectifiers resulting in drive fusing and rectifier problems. The M3345D modules provide blocking diodes that isolate the drives from each other while still establishing a shared, common regen bus. This eliminates the problems encountered with the older approaches.
The diode modules are available in standard, low cost versions that include fusing, heatsinks, and diodes mounted on a backplate. High speed semiconductor fuses are included for the protection of the drives and diode modules.
