M3534B - Battery Regulator

- 5 to 50kW Drives : 4 or 15 Minute 100% Outage -

The Bonitron M3534B Battery Regulator Ride-Thru Module, along with an energy storage bank, provides protection from long term power outages for variable frequency drives that use a fixed rectifier and DC bus. The M3534B allows the use of standard, high voltage battery banks with drive systems previously incompatible with the wide voltage swings of a battery bank. The M3534B can boost for up to 90 seconds, which allows time for generator start up and a transfer to auxiliary power.

Typical UPS solutions are connected in series, which decreases overall drive system reliability. However, all Bonitron Ride-Thru products connect in parallel with the drive which increases system availability and reliability.

The M3534B regulates the dropping battery voltage up to the drive’s desired DC bus level. This allows the drive to “Ride-Thru” power outages while, maintaining motor speed and torque, without experiencing drive shutdown.

OEMs and system integrators can add a M3534B into their cabinet drive systems, or Bonitron can provide a complete S3534BR Ride-Thru System which includes a charger, isolation transformer, a booster, and batteries all-in-one enclosures.
