M3628 - Ultra Capacitor Discharge Controller

M3402R - Drive Logic Interface

- Adds safety to your system -

Bonitron M3628 modules are used to deplete hazardous stored energy in Capacitor Ride-Thru systems, or to load test battery banks. The standard capacitor packages are typically sized to discharge voltage to 50 volts in 1 minute. The M3628T IGBT switch is self-powered from the DC bus and has sufficient internal storage capability to complete the discharge cycle. It can also use an external 24 volt source for extended discharge times. The discharge cycle can be started or stopped at any time via an optically coupled ENABLE input. IGBT modules use internal temperature sensing for automatic shutdown in case of an overload. Temperature feedback from resistors can be used to shut down the discharge automatically as well. Bonitron Model 3628T IGBT Discharge switches are rated in max voltage, peak current, and joules and can be purchased with or without resistive load banks.

M3628T is a discharge switch for any system using Electrolytic or Ultra Capacitor storage, and is available between 75 and 600 Amps in a single package. Units may be paralleled for faster discharge times or larger energy banks.

M3628R is a pre-engineered discharge resistor bank designed to compliment the M3628T IGBT switch modules and is available to make end user design and selection easier. These are rated in peak current and joules for 1 minute discharge.
