The Bonitron M3713SC DC Bus Supply is a phase controlled, non-regenerative converter that is a building block for 12 and 18 pulse systems using standard VFDs. The M3713SC, along with a phase shifting transformer, allows standard drives to meet IEEE 519 compliance as the main power supply for your common bus DC systems.
Although variable frequency drives offer many advantages, harmonics and power quality can be severely affected. Harmonics created on the incoming power line can cause transformer and cable heating, premature motor failures in other connected loads, nuisance tripping in circuit breakers, and severe damage to line connected power correction capacitors. To correct this, 12 or 18 pulse converters are needed.
With a small footprint and simple hookup, installation and integration are easy. Onboard diagnostics allow for quick troubleshooting for minimal downtime.
