The M5650PV Super Booster allows you to use standard, off-the-shelf, 3-Phase VFDs with alternative energy systems.
Solar and wind power are becoming increasingly popular, however these systems use low voltage solar panels or low voltage battery banks. The typical solar panel charges a 24, 36, or 48 volt battery string and can only use special, low voltage DC drives and motors. These special drives and motors usually have long lead times and can be plagued with maintenance issues. These custom DC components are also difficult to integrate with other common industrial equipment and communication schemes found in industrial drive systems.
Bonitron has a solution to this problem. Bonitron’s M5650PV Super Booster provides up to a 15x increase in DC voltage. This allows you to use typical off-the-shelf 208/230VAC, 3-phase variable frequency drives and motors on alternative energy systems. The Super Booster takes the low voltage battery system and boosts it to 300VDC. Modules can be configured for different storage bank voltage levels. The Super Boost module also allows use of low voltage batteries or ultracapacitors to protect drives from short term power outage events, making low hp Ride-Thru systems smaller and more affordable. |
