Bonitron’s model M3675 Low HP Braking Modules are the newest in a series of Bonitron modules for variable frequency drives (VFDs). M3675 Braking Modules provide protection for Variable Frequency AC Micro Drives from overvoltage faults due to regenerated voltage.

These modules are intended for use with 0.5 to 10hp drives with no, or low rated internal brake transistors. The modules are easily installed. Connections are made to the DC bus of the drive, to the M3675T Transistor module, and to the M3575R external braking resistor.

Bonitron’s M3675 Braking Modules work with AC drive systems that use a fixed DC bus, as with PWM ASDs. Controlled braking of the AC drive dramatically shortens the amount of time required for motor shutdown as opposed to coasting to stop. The Bonitron M3575 Braking Modules dissipate regenerated energy in resistive loads.

M3675 Modules monitor the DC drive bus levels and control the braking load across the bus. Standard modules are rated for 10 Amps DC. For higher ratings, please see M3575T and M3452 brochures.
