If you have a critical process, then it only makes sense to pair it with a Bonitron Undervoltage Solution; or more specifically, DC Bus Ride-Thru. If you lose power to your process, Bonitron's Ride-Thru will activate so that your process never sees the disturbance and can continue operating at full power. In fact, Bonitron defines Ride-Thru as having no effect on motor speed or torque, which is why most Bonitron Undervoltage Solutions allow your VFDs to meet or exceed these standards:
SEMI-F47
IEC 61000-4-11
IEC 61000-4-34
Samsung Power Vaccine

Bonitron Undervoltage Ride-Thru Solutions, also known as Uninterruptible Power for Drives, include a DC Voltage Regulator that monitors the drive. If the drive voltage sags or disappears, the Voltage Regulator becomes active and provides power to the DC bus. This allows critical processes to never see the disturbance and can continue operating at full power. Thanks to Bonitron's parallel connection, very low standby power and long product life can be expected.
Sag
Deep Sag Correction - Up to 2 Seconds
Bang for Your Buck!
Bonitron Sag Solutions are the cost effective way to make sure your critical process never sees power disturbances. While some applications experience complete power outages, in most parts of the world sags are the most common culprit of process power disturbances.
Sag Solutions include a voltage booster that allow your process to continue running at full power during a voltage sag. If future needs require energy storage, a simple add-on can easily be installed.
No energy storage necessary
Provides full-load power for up to 2 seconds for:
50% 3-phase sags
1-phase sag to 0v
Capacitor
Blackout Protection - Up to 2 Seconds
Increased Confidence!
While many power disturbances are only caused by sags, there are those complete outages that can wreak havoc on a critical process. Bonitron Capacitor Solutions allow your process to continue to run at full speed for up to 2 seconds during a complete power outage.
Bonitron Capacitor Solutions use long-life capacitors and include a discharger for increased safety and quick cabinet access.
Electrolytic or ultracapacitor energy storage for reduced maintenance and long lifespan
Provides full-load power for up to 2 seconds for 100%, 3-phase outages
Bonitron Battery Solutions are the economical method of providing DC bus back-up power for up to 15 minutes and are ideal for dark starts where no initial power is available or to hold up processes until there's time for generators to start.
Bonitron Battery Solutions can be purchased with batteries, or batteries can be sourced locally to reduce shipping costs.
Battery energy storage for long durations
Provides full-load power for up to
15 minutes for 100%, 3-phase outages
Ideal for dark starts or to maintain process before generator starts

Ride-Thru Voltage Regulators
Bonitron Ride-Thru Voltage Regulators monitor the drive. If the drive voltage sags or disappears, the Voltage Regulator becomes active and provides power to the DC bus. This allows critical processes to never see the disturbance and can continue operating at full power.
Ride-Thru Voltage Regulator Selection:
2-Second Protection
The M3534R (< 85A) and M3460R (> 85A) Voltage Regulators protect drives and processes from 2-second power sags. They can also be used with energy storage, such as electrolytic or ultracapacitors, to protect from outages lasting up to 2 seconds.
Up to 4-Minute Protection
The M3534B (< 85A) and M3460B (> 85A) Battery Voltage Regulators are used with energy storage, such as batteries, to protect drives and processes from outages lasting up to 4 minutes to allow time for generator startup. With seamless power transfer, the M3534B or M3460B (with appropriate components - M3528 Charger and Batteries) allow seamless power transfer from the grid, to Bonitron, to generator.
Display Option:
Digital Display
The ASM 3660DD4 is an interactive digital display for the 3534 & 3460 Series that monitors and stores history of power quality issues, including status, voltage, and current.
Thanks to Bonitron's parallel connection, very low standby power
and long product life can be expected.
The M3628PD Portable Discharger depletes energy stored in ultracapacitor banks. A voltmeter displays the DC voltage and capacitor bank discharging status.
Portability allows the use of one discharger on multiple systems
Self-powered or from supplied 16' 115VAC line cord
M3528UC Ultracapacitor Energy Storage Modules are designed for simple integration and scalability, and are typically used in conjunction with Bonitron Voltage Regulators and Chargers to provide critical processes with 100% power outage protection.
Energy Storage
Energy storage is a bank of either ultracapacitors or batteries. Ultracapacitors are used for energy storage for durations less than 2 seconds. Batteries are used for energy storage for durations longer than 2 seconds.
The M3528B is a 108V or 120V Battery Bank designed to provide emergency power during 100% power outages for industrial applications. Multiple units can be connected for higher voltages and for longer outage protection.
The M5624 is a 24 volt power supply with a wide range (300 – 1200VDC) input. For backup systems using capacitors or batteries, such as Bonitron 3534 or 3460 Series, the input voltage of the storage can vary widely, yet the local 24V controls for the system will need the same Ride-Thru capability as the drive. The M5624 allows the the same storage system as the Ride Thru to back up PLCs, sensors or networks to allow uninterrupted system operation.
300 - 1200VDC input, 24V output
Ability to use same energy storage for PLC Ride-Thru capabilities
The Bonitron M3532 24 VDC Sag Buffer Module can help equipment ride through irritating and costly sags, while helping provide an orderly shutdown in a more sustained power loss. Using maintenance-free ultracapacitors, the unit can provide anywhere from 700ms to 10 seconds of holdup (load dependent).
Some processes may not require uninterruptible power, but just enough power to shut down safely or reset the equipment to a default position during an outage. For these low speed applications the UPD can be undersized to 10-20% of the motor HP, greatly reducing the cost. This is possible because:
Power = Speed x Torque
So theoretically, if you run at one half of the regular speed with the same torque, it will use half of the regular power.
Applications:
Elevators - Move to nearest floor
Ovens - Move system before product or conveyor damaged by heat.
Extruders - Purge system before solidification
Hoists - Lower load to a safe postion
Stamping - Retract feeder mechanisms
