Bonitron is a leading engineering company based in Nashville, TN, specializing in the design and manufacture of industrial electronics, including boost converters, backup power systems, braking controllers, regeneration inverters, and resistors. We are currently seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of high-performance, industrial-grade power electronics.

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Bonitron, you'll play a critical role in designing and testing advanced electronic systems for demanding industrial applications. You'll collaborate with fellow engineers and cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions from concept to production, with a focus on reliability, efficiency, and compliance with global standards.

Ideal Candidate

  • Ultiboard/Multisim, Altium board development
  • Strong grounding and background in power electronics and thermal design
  • Microprocessor and embedded design
  • design and impleentation for high power designs up to 600 VAC

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop industrial grade power electronics.
  • Develop manuals and testing criteria for designs.
  • Confer with engineers,customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
  • Develop budgets, estimate labor, material and construction costs.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with project production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
  • Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
  • Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
  • Supervise and train project team members as necessary.

Required Skills

  • Laboratory experience required.
  • Analog circuit design preferred.
  • Microprocessor system design preferred.
  • Required skills include CAD/CAM for circuit board layout and production, Workbenc/Multisim, Altium. 
  • UL and CE codes knowledge and experience a plus. Field service experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering.
