M3528 - Ultra Capacitor / Battery Charger

The Bonitron M3528AC or DC chargers are voltage and current regulated power supplies designed to charge and maintain energy storage devices used for “Ride Thru” protection of industrial drive systems.

Some industrial power systems require back up power for personnel safety or to save equipment failure and continuous process downtime as a result of voltage loss. Any system requiring energy during a complete loss of input power will need some type of energy storage device, and any storage device needs some type of precharge and voltage regulation. For industrial power systems it is often necessary to series several lower voltage storage components together to form a bank with enough voltage for high power systems, making off the shelf low voltage charging systems ineffective.

For these applications Bonitron has designed the M3528 series of chargers. M3528 can be used to charge live battery banks or completely discharged Ultra capacitors.

Models are available for 208-460V systems, with charging capability up to 650VDC @ 20 amps. “DC” units can be used in conjunction with Bonitron M3534RT boosters for applications 50kw and below, while “AC” models that include rectifier and isolation transformer are recommended for applications above 50kw, or with more than one drive connected. Isolation transformers can be ordered through local suppliers or supplied by Bonitron.
